Assignment# 16- Expertise

I have been playing handball for about five years now and its a sport that i love to do. Handball is played by two or four people indoors on a four-wall court or outdoors on a one or three-wall court. When four people play at a time its called a game of doubles.

Handball is played with a little round rubber ball that has to hit the wall before the floor first. After the ball bounces off the middle wall it is allowed to hit the ground one time and still be a live ball. once the second bounce is made the ball is no longer in play. The serve then gets the point unless it was his/hers mistake then the other person wins serve, not point.

This game looks very boring to some but others are addicted to this strategic game of handball. Its not only hitting a ball to the wall and making sure it reaches, handball has a lot more than that going on.

In outside handball there are three walls and the ball can ricochet off of any one as long as it hits the middle wall. So instead of chasing the ball as soon as you see your opponent strike it, you should be calculating where the ball would land before the second bounce.

Assignment#17- Stranded

If I was stranded in the middle of the ocean in a deserted island i would want to have a few things with me. I would want to definitely have a dog by my side. A dog is a mans best friend so whats better than to have your own with you. The dog will keep my boredom at a minimum and that i feel will have me survive long enough for a rescue party of some sort to come find me.

Another item that would come in handy would be a lighter. A lighter will keep me from getting millions of blisters and help me cook any type of food. The fire will not only work for cooking food but for warmth in the night time sky’s also.

The last item of my choice to have with me on a deserted island would be a very sharp switchblade. The switchblade will help me cut anything i want and kill anything i would want for human consumption. The knife and the lighter will both help me survive longer but only to a certain degree i believe.

Assignment #15- My Dream Job

The dream job for me would be to become one of the best lawyers there is out there. Becoming a lawyer to me means a lot dues to the fact that i have an uncle in jail who i believe is in there for an exaggerated amount of time and i would like to review his case. Not only do i like helping people stay out of the legal system but i also want to keep them out of jail.

Lawyers serve as both advocates and advisers. As advocates, they speak for their clients in court by presenting supportive evidence. As advisers, they counsel their clients on their legal rights and obligations. Most lawyers have private practices that handle many kinds of legal problems. Some work for larger law firms, corporations, and government agencies. Others teach law.

Some lawyers become district attorneys or judges, while many enter politics. Most lawyers obtain bachelor's degrees and law school degrees. Helpful college courses include English, history, political science, economics, and social science. Those who want to be patent attorneys often major in engineering, while future tax lawyers get accounting degrees.

Lawyers who start their own practices right after graduating from law school generally earn very little for the first few years.

The median earnings of all state and local government lawyers ranged from $70,280 to $73,410 per year, while the median for federal government lawyers was $108,070 per year. Those who entered practice in large law firms started with salaries ranging from $34,000 to $80,000 per year.

#13- My favorite book

Rene "Boxer" Enriquez grew up in East L.A., where gang fights and drive-by shootings were everyday occurrences fueled by rage, drugs, and alcohol. Sent to prison at nineteen, he was recruited by La Eme, the near-mythic Mexican Mafia, arguably the most well-armed and dangerous gang in American history. A young man without fear who would kill without hesitation, Enriquez's loyalty and iron will drove him quickly up the ranks, from mob enforcer to the upper echelons, where he would help rule for nearly two decades. Seeking respect, he devoted his life to a bloody cause, only to find betrayal and disillusionment.

I like the book The Black Hand, because it explains what the real system in prison is like. Killings, stabbings, and overdoses are what prisons revolve around. The Black Hand was written Chris Blatchford but from the eyes of Rene “Boxer” Enriquez.

“Boxer” was always going in and out of jail for gang activity or drug related charges. In prison he learned about the mafia and was always ready to make a name for himself. He would kill, steal and plot out deaths for other inmates.

Even his own race would sometimes be the target for doing something forbidden or out of line. Stealing from another carnal or talking down about another homie would mainly be the problem.
